We understand that pet emergencies can happen at any time. That's why we're proud to offer after-hour services to ensure that your pets get the care they need. We are using the triage-based system during these hours. It prioritizes pet cases based on their severity. It guarantees efficient treatment for even the most critical situations. Triage Traffic Light System
The “Triage Traffic Light” system helps vet clinics, as well as pet owners, judge the priority of the issues. It is a visual tool that classifies patients based on the urgency of their needs.
*NOTE that the traffic light system is not a perfect tool. Every pet has its own individual needs that differ from others. Use it to ease your stress and worry when you notice medical problems with your pets. Listen are a few examples for each light:
Red is a high concern and high priority.
Here are some examples:
- Severe bleeding or injury
- Difficulty breathing or respiratory distress
- Consecutive vomiting or diarrhea
- Suspected poisoning
- Extreme lethargy or loss of consciousness
- Seizures or convulsions
- Difficulty urinating or defecating
- Trauma or injury from a car accident
- Fractures or broken bones
Yellow should have an exam within 48 hours.
Some examples include:
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- Lethargy or loss of appetite
- Mild respiratory issues or coughing
- Urinary tract infection or bladder stones
- Small wounds or lacerations
- Constipation or difficulty defecating
- Lameness or limping
- Weight loss or poor appetite
Green means low concern and can wait a few days.
Just a few examples are:
- Allergies or skin irritation
- Eye irritation or discharge
- Dental problems or gum disease
- Ear infections or ear mites
- Behavior changes or aggression
- Stress or anxiety
- Matted fur or skin infections
