Registered Veterinary Technician
Eagleson Veterinary Clinic is a full-service small-animal clinic (AAHA-accredited) at 58-500 Eagleson Rd, Kanata, Ontario. We provide medicine, dentistry, surgery, hospitalization, and ultrasound. We are recruiting for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
Job Duties
We are looking for candidates motivated to contribute in a client-focused team environment. The successful candidate will have 3 years’ experience in the following facets of a small-animal veterinary practice:
- Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
- Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
- Produce radiographs, collect and analyse samples and perform other laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis of animal health problems
- Assist veterinarian with animals before, during and following surgery by preparing surgical equipment, administering and monitoring anaesthetics and cleaning up after surgery
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of a veterinarian
- Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian
- Provide wound and bandage care
- Conduct specialized procedures such as animal identification
- Educate and advise clients on animal health care including nutrition and home care
- Assist in laboratory research
- Perform routine veterinary dental support procedures (prophy, charting, radiographs) and assist veterinarians with dentistry
- Place and maintain IV catheters; monitor and record anesthesia, pain scores, and recovery parameters
- Maintain treatment logs, inventory, and equipment quality-control checklists
- May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties.

Skill requirements
- Completion of a two- or three-year veterinary technology program (RVT).
- Active registration and good standing with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT) by start date.

Veterinarian
Eagleson Veterinary Clinic, a privately owned 24/7 hospital, is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our supportive team. We offer a fixed weekly schedule with overnight rotations every 4–6 weeks and only one weekend day.

Job Duties
We are looking for candidates motivated to contribute to a client-focused team environment. The successful candidate will have 3-6 years’ experience in the following facets of a small animal veterinary specialist:
- Diagnosing diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals through physical examinations or laboratory tests
- Treating sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
- Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
- Perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations
- Advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals
- Provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia
- May supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers
- May be responsible for overall operation of a clinic
- May conduct veterinary research related to areas such as animal nutrition, health care products development and disease prevention and control

OVERNIGHT Registered Veterinary Technician
Eagleson Veterinary Clinic in Kanata is looking for additional full-time or part-time overnight Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our team as we continue to grow!
Eagleson Veterinary Clinic is AAHA accredited facility in Ottawa and currently seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our team (New grads are welcome and will be given lots of support when starting out).
We are a full-service small animal practice that is client and service-oriented and fully equipped with digital and dental x-rays, full in-house Idexx lab and ultrasound.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, confident and motivated. This is a permanent position. Our Registered Veterinary Technicians utilize all their skills and work in a fun, friendly team setting. Our team gets along amazingly and are very supportive of each other.
