Veterinary Technician
Job Details
Eagleson Veterinary Clinic is a full-service small animal clinic (AAHA Accredited) located at 58-500 Eagleson Rd, Kanata, Ontario. We offer our client’s pets services that include medical care, dentistry, surgery and hospitalization, and ultrasound. Our growing clinic is recruiting for a Veterinary Technician.
Job Duties
We are looking for candidates motivated to contribute to a client-focused team environment. The successful candidate will have 3 years’ experience in the following facets of a small animal veterinary specialist:
- Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
- Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
- Produce radiographs, collect and analyze samples and perform other laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis of animal health problems
- Assist veterinarians with animals before, during and following surgery by preparing surgical equipment, administering and monitoring anesthetics and cleaning up after surgery
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of a veterinarian
- Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian
- Provide wound and bandage care
- Conduct specialized procedures such as animal identification and hoof trimming
- Educate and advise clients on animal health care including nutrition and home care
- Assist in laboratory research
- Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
- May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties.

Skill requirements
- Completion of a two- or three-year animal health/veterinary technology college program is required.
- Registration with Ontario veterinary technicians’ association.

Wage: $28/hour.

Job Duties
We are looking for candidates motivated to contribute to a client-focused team environment. The successful candidate will have 3-6 years’ experience in the following facets of a small animal veterinary specialist:
- Diagnosing diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals through physical examinations or laboratory tests
- Treating sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
- Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
- Perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations
- Advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals
- Provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia
- May supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers
- May be responsible for overall operation of a clinic
- May conduct veterinary research related to areas such as animal nutrition, health care products development and disease prevention and control

OVERNIGHT Registered Veterinary Technician
Eagleson Veterinary Clinic in Kanata is looking for additional full-time or part-time overnight Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our team as we continue to grow!
Eagleson Veterinary Clinic is AAHA accredited facility in Ottawa and currently seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our team (New grads are welcome and will be given lots of support when starting out).
We are a full-service small animal practice that is client and service-oriented and fully equipped with digital and dental x-rays, full in-house Idexx lab and ultrasound.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, confident and motivated. This is a permanent position. Our Registered Veterinary Technicians utilize all their skills and work in a fun, friendly team setting. Our team gets along amazingly and are very supportive of each other.
